This is the digipack for Rihanna's fifth album 'Loud'. For her new style, she borrows heavily from the album's title with her bright red hair extensions seen on the left. This theme of red is continued throughout the digipak and the colour of the CD is a reminder of the pink hues found in the video for one of the singles from the album, signalling her transition of a darker themed previous album towards a softer and more upbeat image. The apparent femininity of the digipak (demonstrated by the inclusion of a strategically placed flower and the pink theme) seems to suggest the target audience of the album as females. This is seen in some of the songs from the album which appeal to women.
This album cover by Nicki Minaj is for her debut 'Pink Friday' and has all the characteristics of Minaj's eccentric look. Her self styled 'black barbie' image is shown on the cover with a scary looking barbie doll version of Nicki Minaj staring back. The pink colour features heavily in the artwork which is to be expected from the title, with the word 'pink' and the dress and shoes of the Minaj barbie doll all coloured pink, set on a candy pink background. This all works to make the title given to the album relevant.
The capital letters of the title make it stand out and again, emphasis on the word pink is given, not only by the font colour but the decision to make that word not in capital letters. This makes the word stand out and deviant from the rest of the title's graphology, an interesting technique, as capital letters are usually employed to make a word stand out, not the reverse.
